RidgeMen

In our men's small groups, men are equipped within the context of Biblical community. These groups meet throughout our community at various times throughout the week and focus on maturity in Connect, Grow, Serve, and Go.

Each group is uniquely designed according to the leader's passions and gifts. Some groups may meet weekly for Bible study, while others may meet twice monthly, go hiking or fishing, and connect with a devotion over lunch. Regardless, each group's goal is the same—to take the next steps in their journey with God.

There are several ways that men can connect at River Ridge. It all depends on what interests you. Fill out the RidgeMen Interest Form to get started and someone will contact you soon.

Now revised this classic guide to biblical masculinity is poised to impact a new generation of men. True masculinity is not measured by the strength of a man, but by these twenty biblical guidelines drawn from the Apostle Paul's letters to his young protégés Timothy and Titus. Inspiring, encouraging, and practical, this book shows men how they can reach God's standards as fathers, husbands, and mentors to other men. Book Study Narrative: What if the thing our churches are missing is not a something, but a Someone? Francis Chan’s Forgotten God seeks to reverse our neglect of the Holy Spirit by exposing the enormous gap between what Scripture says about the Spirit and how most believers and churches operate today. Through solid scriptural support and compelling narrative, Chan reveals the Holy Spirit as the Bible describes Him. His goal is not merely to educate readers – it is to infuse reader’s lives with the presence of the Holy Spirit in profound ways.

AEGIS

AEGIS is an organized force of volunteer River Ridgers that can be mobilized on short notice to meet physical needs, primarily within but also outside the church body -- with a special focus on home repair-related projects. When joining Aegis, a new team member specifies their skillsets and preferred types of tasks. Then, when a need is identified, Aegis members with matching skills/preferences are contacted in rotation so that no one team member becomes overburdened.

Aegis follows the same concept as the national guard (when it operates as a relief organization). The word "aegis" itself (pronounced AY-jis) comes from both Latin and Greek, and has come to mean "guard," "shield," or "protection." When people have important physical projects they can't complete on their own, this team operates under the aegis of River Ridge Church to meet those needs for God's glory.

Distinctives of this area of ministry:
  • It requires no commitment, just a willingness to be called about opportunities. You can always say no!
  • Serving is irregular, as needed (and when you're available), not according to a schedule.
  • You're never on the hook to teach or really say much of anything. (But you're always welcome to pray with folks or talk about Jesus as you feel led!)
